Kantha Folk Shirt
Kantha Folk Shirt
Folk needlework, which is tiny and clearly shaped like animals, is used on this shirt. It is embroidered in the Nakshi Kantha style, which has its roots in the rich legacy of Bengali art. Each stitch in this manner tells a tale of an ordinary rural animal's existence. The cheli, or long line, gives the entire design a refined feel.
The shirt is a one-of-a-kind item because of the meticulous arrangement of various designs on both sides up until the collar, which is embellished with delicate stitches, a button-down front feature, and half-sleeve length.
The artwork/motifs are first hand-drawn by the local hand-drawing experts or the artisan herself, and then traced onto the fabric, and then hand-embroidered using colorful mercerized cotton threads in a classic running stitch pattern on locally sourced materials.
This unique and exclusive work of art is a heavy labor and time-consuming process that requires 3 months of time to embroider by our Kantha artists. Kindly allow this time for them to send this to you with love.
