ABOUT PISTABARFI
Our grandfather started a tiny shop back in 1968 where he would make an extremely select batch of mithai himself, using the simplest of ingredients.
Back in 1968, Harshit and Tanay Agarwal’s grandfather laid the foundation for a humble mithai shop, crafting a small batch of sweets using simple, traditional ingredients. Decades later, when the pandemic put the future of the shop at risk, the two brothers stepped in—not just to preserve a family legacy, but to reimagine it. With Pistabarfi, they’re bringing timeless mithai flavours to a new generation, pairing nostalgic Indian tastes with a bold, design-forward vision. Blending heritage with contemporary aesthetics, they celebrate the spirit of India through both flavour and form. We spoke with Harshit Agarwal, co-founder and creative lead at Pistabarfi, about their visual identity, the language of design, and how memory and emotion shape their brand.
