Lotus Kantha Shirt

The carefully stitched and lovingly crafted Kantha shirt is made by our Artisan Ajija Sultana. Ajija and her team of women artisans embroider this vibrant pattern on locally sourced tussar silk fabric. 

This shirt takes you and gives a visual experience of a village in Bengal with a quaint little Lotus pond with swans swimming in it. 

The artwork/motifs are first hand-drawn by the local hand-drawing experts or the artisan herself, then traced onto the fabric, and then hand-embroidered using colorful cotton threads in a classic running stitch pattern on locally sourced coloured Tussar Silk. You might find slight colour variations in the pieces as each of them is one of a kind and handmade. 

This unique and exclusive work of art is a heavily labor and time-consuming process that requires a minimum of 2 months to embroider by our Kantha artists. Kindly allow this time for them to send this to you with love.
