Each Mukhauta is a one of a kind, hand-formed piece crafted entirely from discarded materials—found paper and egg cartons—transformed into joyful wall art. This series is a personal celebration of colour, texture, and pattern. After moving to Melbourne, I found myself longing for the vibrant palettes I grew up with. Creating these masks became a playful and fulfilling way to reconnect with that energy—often while crafting with my three-year-old using old cartons and cardboard.

The process is slow and meditative: the materials are soaked, pulped, dried, sculpted, and left to cure over 10–12 days before they’re ready to be painted. Each piece is shaped by hand, embracing irregularities and imperfections as part of its tactile charm.
These masks are my intuitive take on papier-mâché—playful, expressive, and deeply satisfying in how they transform everyday waste into something meaningful for the home.
Painted with high-quality, lightfast acrylics and sealed with a non-yellow-ing matte or gloss varnish, each mask is designed to be both durable and full of character.
A cord is stretched between D-rings attached at the back, for hanging not water resistant, use dry cloth for dusting.
