Cropped jacket with poetic ikat patterns resembling sand dunes shimmering on a bright summer day is our current favourite. Ikat as a technique has long been restricted to the confines of a six yards saree but we at No Borders are striving to revive the form and re-imagine it in contemporary silhouettes like this one. A FUNctional half sleeves jacket, lightweight and with ample room for all your carry-ons in its four asymmetrical pockets. Adventurous yet rooted in its technique; perfect for a concert or a flea market. Put it on over a tee and be assured that you are contributing to keeping this technique alive.

WHO, WHEN, WHERE, AND HOW

For this collection, we worked with a young artisan named Chandana, who has been weaving Ikat fabrics since she was 16, in Telangana. A state that is well known for Koy's Ikat. She soon developed an interest, and by the age of 18, she was creating her own original Ikat patterns, redesigning the traditional ways of weaving. Sand tone Ikat jacket with a tall collar and asymmetric pockets on the front, stitched beautifully into wearable art.
