Collection: Mahlaqah Marri
Mahlaqah, a Baloch digital illustrator from Balochistan, Pakistan. She creates expressive digital portraits using photoshop and procreate merging personal storytelling with symbollic resistance. Her art gives time voice to women who live in silence emotionally overwhelmed, yet socially muted.
The women she illustrate wear poker faces, their faces unreadable, but not emotionless. These faces carry invisible weight : Untold stories, unspoken anger, Quiet love and a storm of complexity of behind the stillness.
Each piece is layered with symbolism - flowers traditional jewellery, repeated faces, motif of silence and survival. Her work is her protest and poetry. It's a visible language for the home who were never allowed to speak.
