Jayesh Veralkar, a longtime record collector and music marketer, co-founded Vinyl Souk with his wife Serina Pinheiro in 2023 to nurture a grassroots music and vinyl culture in the UAE. Frustrated by the lack of infrastructure for local artists and collectors in Dubai, the duo launched Vinyl Souk as a platform for curated vinyl fairs, live sets, educational talks, and artist showcases — creating space for diverse musical subcultures in a region often overlooked. With growing support from collectors and DJs worldwide, Vinyl Souk has quickly become a hub for the city’s evolving music scene, championing connection, community, and crate-digging culture.
